Introduction:
Environmental Science is a study of the environment (surrounding) in chemical, biological and physical context. Environmental engineers are qualified to work on a variety of serious environmental issues. For example, they can design municipal water supply and industrial wastewater treatment systems; assess recycling and reclamation processes; conduct hazardous-waste management studies, and consult on the environmental effects of various construction projects. They may be required to inspect and evaluate industrial and municipal facilities and programs to assess their compliance with environmental regulations. They may work with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists to address environmental problems.

Remuneration:
Scientists who are working in government sector can start earning in the range of Rs. 12,000 to Rs 18,000 per month. Candidates with a postgraduate degree can earn initially within the range of Rs. 35000 to Rs. 50000 and those with a Ph.D. degree can earn in between Rs. 50000 - Rs. 75000. A licensed engineer can expect a salary of Rs.1 lakh per month.
