Introduction:

Assistant District Attorneys (ADA) are the lawyers working under the supervision of the District Attorney. The Assistant district attorneys assist the District Attorney in all administrative and managerial functions of his office according to his direction. They are generally considered as the second-in-command for the office and usually report directly to the head prosecutor. They conduct prosecution in court on behalf of the city, state and central governments as required by the District Attorney. 

Assistant district attorneys have a wide variety of responsibilities. It is their responsibility to ensure that the district attorney’s job is done properly and with precision. The most important duty of Assistant district attorney is to file charges against criminals and prosecuting them in court as required by District Attorney. In order to prosecute the criminals, they have to work with law enforcement officers (police departments and detectives) who have investigated the crime. Before filing charges against criminals they evaluate the criminal case presented by the law enforcement agency and determine whether there is sufficient evidence to prosecute. If there is sufficient evidence, then they file charges against the accused in the criminal court.

Eligibility:

Qualifications required : To work as an Assistant District Attorney, one should possess a Bachelor of Law degree from any recognized University and should have enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocates Act 1961, and should have practice with Bar Council for minimum 2 years.
Specialization in criminal laws will be beneficial for those who aspire to be an Assistant District attorney. Participating in moot court competitions while studying will give them the opportunity to argue cases and learn about the judicial process.
75% of the posts of Assistant District Attorney's are filled by Direct recruitment through a competitive examination by Public Service Commission (PSC) and the remaining 25% percent by promotion.

Remuneration:

Assistant District Attorney is a public servant and is entitled to receive pay scales as prescribed by the government. Salary varies according to experience, length of service, location and the hiring entity.

Introduction:

Eligibility:

Studying aromatherapy is a fun and challenging experience, combining core sciences with product formulation and scent blending. Only few Indian institutes are offering Aromatherapy courses and one can pursue certificate, diploma, degree and postgraduate diploma / degree courses through regular or distance mode. Minimum eligibility criteria for short term and degree courses is 10+2 and graduation for post graduate course. Depending on the type of the course, the duration may vary from 1 week to 3 years.

Indian Board of Alternative Medicines (Kolkata) offer 2 years Bachelor degree and 1year Diploma course in Aromatheraphy through its distance mode.

An appointment with these professionals, usually lasts between 40 minutes to 1 1/2 hours and one can charge an hourly rate between Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 per session. Experienced practitioners can earn nearly Rs.1 lakh per month.

Introduction:

History of every place is embedded in thousands of manuscripts, records, inscriptions, documents, etc. These unique records scientifically preserved and restored called archival records, help to understand the history of a particular region and society; to provide evidence for legal purposes; to prove ownership and rights; to demonstrate how organizations operate and how people lived etc. Archives alias Archival Records is the store house of historical records/ documents and the physical place they are located. The word 'archive' is derived from the Greek source arkheia ( pl. of arkheion) meaning public office or town hall, in which important official state documents were filed and interpreted under the authority of the Archon (ruler or lord, frequently used as the title of a specific public office). Usually archives consist of records that have been selected for permanent or long-term preservation on the ground of their enduring cultural, historical or evidentiary value. 
The term archives can mean different things and can be defined in three ways namely ;

- Repositories (Physical facilities)
- Organizations
Though archives are found in many different contexts, all archival programs have the same fundamental goal; i.e preservation of records about history and cultural heritage. 


Eligibility: 

Most colleges and universities teach Archival Science as a subsidiary subject with Information Science, or paired with a History program. Graduates in history, library science, political science, archival science or a similar discipline can start off their career as an archivist with archival coursework and some practical knowledge. The minimum educational qualification required to join for the above mentioned courses is 10+2 or its equivalent.  On completion of the bachelors degree, one can go for masters in the respective field and can further enroll for M.Phil or Ph.D.

Job Prospects and Career Options in Archival Studies:

Graduates in archival studies can find openings in corporate organizations handling any kind of data. Many people start off their career as assistant archivists. Trained and qualified archivist with proficiency in handling and maintenance of records and manuscripts are needed for preserving and handling various data and information records of historical as well as of national importance. Remuneration:

Pay packages offered to archivists differ largely, based on the nature of the employers. A fresher can earn a starting salary ranging from Rs. 10000 to Rs. 15000 per month. Experienced and qualified professionals can get higher salary packages of about Rs.20,000 per month. With increase in experience, one can easily get more. The initial pay scale of Assistant Archivist in the universities and institutes range from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 20,200/-. The pay scale of Assistant Archivist (general), for the Office of Director General, Archeological Survey of India range from Rs. 30,000 – 35,000. The pay scale of archivists in Central and State Governments ranges from Rs. 25,000/- – 50,000/-. In Reserve Bank of India (RBI/Bank)  the chief archivist (Deputy General Manager) will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 35,000/- p.m. They will also be eligible for dearness allowance, local allowance, house allowance, family allowance, Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time.

Introduction:

Architecture, the science of building, is the visualization of building blocks. It is the area of study which deals with the designing and planning of buildings and structures and the spaces between them. Architecture is a highly competitive and multi-disciplinary profession which involves a variety of tasks at work. This is a field which covers various fields including spatial design, aesthetics, safety management, material management etc.

Architects are the licensed professionals trained in the art and science of building. They are involved in all the phases of the building construction i.e the functional, safety, economical and has to satisfy the needs of its occupants. They are responsible person for the planning, designing and supervision of construction works for houses, office buildings, skyscrapers, landscapes, and even entire cities. An Architect is a combination of artist, professional and businessperson. They ideates, sketches, makes blueprints of their designs and then sees them come to life as cottages, skyscrapers and even monuments. Apart from designing and construction, architects are trained in activities ranging from conceptual problem solving to project management.


Eligibility & Course Areas:

Ø   A bachelor's degree in architecture (B.Arch) or Diploma in architecture is needed to become a qualified architect. For practical purposes there is no difference between the two qualifications.

Ø   The basic eligibility criteria for B.Arch is 10+2 (senior secondary Class XII) or equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks in Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Besides this, the candidate must qualify an entrance examination.

Ø   Entrance Tests : Admission to first year of Five years full time undergraduate course in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture) in various colleges of India is through National and State level entrance examinations. 

Ø   The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education ) conducts a national level entrance examination- All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on an All India basis for entry to undergraduate programmed in B. Architecture and B. Planning in government and private institutes. The paper consists of Mathematics, an Aptitude Test and a Drawing test. The National Aptitude test in Architecture (NATA), the online test with drawing exam is conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies and Architecture in association with the Council of Architecture (COA). NATA scores are used by admissions authorities of different unaided & Government aided schools / colleges of Architecture, to provide common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants. NATA measures aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking, perception, observation and architectural awareness. 

Ø   Entrance to architecture programmed at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT's) is through the national level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Private institutes conduct entrance exams of their own. Different states also hold separate entrance exams for admission to architecture and engineering colleges in the state. 

Ø   Duration & Course Content : The B.Arch degree programmed is of 5 years duration and includes a period of practical experience. The apprenticeship (usually for one semester) has to be done under a practicing architect. The B. Arch degree prepares the theoretical foundations and gives some practical insight on which a student later develops proficiency and functional accuracy. 

Ø   Apart from the degree course in B.Arch, Diploma in architecture are also available in some institutes as either full time or part time. It will take seven years to complete the part-time diploma courses.

Ø   After completing B.Arch, the candidates if they wish can go for post graduation i.e Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) which is of 2 to 3 semester duration. At the postgraduate level one can specialise in areas like construction management, town planning, interior design, naval architecture, landscape designing, building engineering and management etc. 

Ø   Doctoral programmed (Ph.D) can be pursued after M.Arch or with a B.Arch plus five years experience in professional practice or teaching or research.


Job Prospects & Career Options:

The main task of an architect is to design and execute the plan for construction of any building or area. The job scenario include site selection, field research and supervision, safety management, quality control, environmental planning, estimating and costing, supervision of construction work, interior decoration etc.

They are also employed in industrial ventures, consultancy and private architectural firms, teaching institutions, real estate development firms etc. The most privileged scope in the field of architecture is private practice. With some years of experience in an organisation, the architects can set up their own business. 
Architectural practices or individual architects may choose to specialize in one of a number of areas such as housing, hospital or educational facilities.

A qualified architect, to work as a consultant or to set up private practice, must register with the Council of Architecture before starting their profession.


Remuneration:

A fresh architectural graduate working as a trainee with established architects, starts with a salary of Rs. 4000 - 7000 per month. With in a short span of time, the earnings can rise up to Rs.10,000- 20,000 per month depending upon the experience and the work involved. In the government sectors, the pay scale is not as lucrative as the private sector, since it is set according to the rules by the government. The Council of Architecture has laid down a standard scale of remuneration for services.

In this field, individuals practicing through their own firm could earn a lot, and this could be from thousands to lakhs. Consultants charge anywhere between 4 and 10 per cent of the total cost of construction in case of apartments and multi storied buildings. They charge 15-20 per cent of the total cost of construction in the case of independent houses and bungalows.

Introduction:

Each and every ancient civilization had their own history which were not recorded in those days. With the passage of time, evidences has been uncovered now and again through archeological studies. Archeology is the main method available for learning about the history of such civilizations. The word archeology is derived from two Greek words 'archaios' which means ancient things and 'logos' which means theory of science. Archaeology was first put to use by the Romans in the eighteenth century but it was given more accuracy by Heinrich Schliemann who brought to light the origins of Greek civilization. 
Archaeology is a rewarding and challenging career opportunity for those who have an analytical bend of mind and a keen desire to know about the past. It can give awareness about the heritage and tradition of a country or a culture. It is the scientific and systematic study of past and human cultures through the recovery, analysis and documentation of material remains and environmental data, like architecture, artifacts, features, landscapes and biofacts.  Eligibility & Course Areas:

Ø   Archaeology is a career for those who have an acute interest and training in culture and history. It is preferable for candidates to have a background of ancient history and culture. The basic eligibility criteria for Bachelor course in History/ Archaeology (i.e B.A level) of three-year duration, is 10+2 or equivalent. After graduation one can opt for a Post graduate Diploma or Degree course in Archaeology. 

Ø   Graduates in History in any stream with an aggregate of 55% marks can apply for Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma or Post graduation (MA/ M.Sc.) in different fields of Archaeology. Duration of these courses may vary from 1 year to 2 years. Admission to the two year Post Graduate Diploma course at the Institute of Archaeology, the academic wing of the Archeological Survey of India in New Delhi, is on the basis of a written exam and an interview.

Ø   At a higher level, those interested in conducting research on the various branches of Archaeology can do Ph. D. But before applying for research fellowship, they must have completed their post graduation.


Job Prospects & Career Options:

The task of Archaeologists is to study architectural relics or monuments or whatever it may be, to identify the period to which they belong which may later become historical evidence. They examine the relevance of any evidence, which may range from ruins of large cities to stone flakes and thus trace the stages of development of civilizations. They analyze the data and write reports on their findings. 
Artifacts, features and ecofacts are the three basic kinds of archeological evidence that are useful to the Archaeologists. Artifacts are objects like pots, beads, copper plates etc. made by people, which can be moved without altering their appearance. Study of artifacts often requires the knowledge of other languages like Urdu, Sanskrit and Persian as they may contain inscriptions.


Remuneration:

The pay scale for an Archaeologist depends on their education, level of skill and who they work for. Since the nature of job prospects is very diverse, the salary can vary tremendously. The basic pay scale of an Assistant Archaeologist employed with the Archaeological Survey of India is between Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 15,000 including other allowances. The promotion is based upon the performance. The salary scale of the Director General varies between Rs.25,000 and 30,000. The minimum pay scale of Archaeologists working in colleges and universities is around 16,000 to 20,000/- per month. A doctoral degree in this field entitles one to reach higher pay scale and it is a must for a rise in this career. 
The initial pay scale in private firms can be much higher when compared to the government sector. The remuneration with time and experience expands to the advantage of Archaeologists.
